Join Brooke and Mary in welcoming Rebecca Yarsin of House Casting and David Bellantoni of Beth Melsky Casting for a 2 night commercial copy blow-out.

Night 1 will feature Mary and Rebecca, night 2 will feature Brooke and David.  This is an opportunity to work with 4 casting directors on new commercial copy. This workshop is open to Brooke and Mary alums only.

David and Rebecca will be at the helm providing guidance and direction on giving the best commercial audition. Gain insight and wisdom for 2 industry professionals who work non-stop casting commercials. 

During each 2 hour evening you will work on cold commercial copy.   The CD's will watch, critique and offer coaching on each commercial. There will also be time for a Q&A.  This is a small workshop aimed for peeps who are looking to hone their commercial auditioning skills.

This is not a pay for play workshop. There is no guarantee of employment by taking this workshop.  This is an instructional class aimed at providing education and insight in the world of commercial auditioning.

About Your Instructors

David Bellantoni

Casting Director, Beth Melsky Casting

I started casting in Los Angeles in 1994 and moved back home to New York to continue my work in the business in 2005. I’ve worked on a wide variety of projects such as national network commercials, network promos, political ads, feature films, short films, documentaries, corporate industrials, music videos, PSA’s, webisodes and voice-overs for both TV and radio spots. Some of the directors I’ve worked with include: David Fincher, Tom Hooper, Tony Scott, Peter Berg, John Singleton, Doug Liman, Phil Morrison, and Errol Morris. I’m currently a Casting Director with one of the busiest companies in New York, Beth Melsky Casting. I’ve guest lectured at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, The Maggie Flanigan Studio, The Actor’s Green Room, The Actor’s Connection, ACT NOW, Weist-Barron, One on One and Paul Michael’s The Network NYC. I’m also a frequent contributor to Backstage’s “Commercial Break” Advice column.

Mary Egan Callahan

Casting Director, House Casting

New York commercial casting director Mary Egan-Callahan, of House Casting, originally thought she wanted to be an actor, until she landed a casting internship and fell in love with casting. Fifteen years later, Egan-Callahan, who specializes in comedy, still loves her job as a casting director. She's even offered her casting advice on television shows on E! and TLC. Her credits include the indie films "Life in Short" and "El Segundo," the MTV series "Damage Control," and commercials for Bank of America, Bud Light, Amtrak, Diet Coke, Levi's, FedEx, AT&T, Verizon, and Gillette.

Brooke Thomas

Casting Director, Brooke Thomas Casting

Brooke Thomas is a veteran commercial casting director in New York City. Recognizing a need for more personalized casting services that leveraged her experience and vast network of actor connections, she formed Brooke Thomas Casting in November of 2012. She was originally drawn into the world of casting 17 years ago and worked at Liz Lewis Casting and most recently at House Casting. Brooke has cast well over 2000 commercials for brands such as ETrade, Hummer, NY Lottery, Red Lobster, Pizza Hut, Charles Schwab and Huggies.

Rebecca Yarsin

Casting Director, House Casting

Rebecca casts National and Regional Commercials and Industrials as well as National and Regional Voice-Overs. Recent commercials include: Apple, Time Warner, Cablevision, AT&T, Bank of America, TD Bank, Chase, Burlington, Verizon, Lay's, Old Navy, Gillette, Macy's, Microsoft, Hertz, Ketel One, Bacardi, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Hershey's, Dove, Charles Schwab, Dr Scholls, Kit Kat, GNC, Reese's, Acuvue, Dos Equis, Marie Callender and many others. She also works on many web series, shorts and plays as well as directing her own projects. She is always looking for new talent! She was formerly in theatrical casting and worked as a Producer on Broadway and Off-Broadway for many years.

Plans change, we get it. If you book a job or something else comes up we'll try to resell your seat if you notify us 7 or more days prior to the start of the class or workshop.
